Garage Door Maintenance
A garage door is the largest moving object in most homes. A door system must be properly adjusted and maintained on a regular basis in order to function safely and efficiently. (Problems that can occur over time include: lack of lubrication puts additional strain on a garage door leading to premature failure, poor weather-stripping causes heat loss, which can increase energy costs, etc.)
June is Garage Door Safety Month! To better educate our customers, C.H.I. has put together a Garage Door Safety Checklist that homeowners can use to perform a 5-minute monthly maintenance checkup on their door. Check it out!
For one low price, Sunrise Door & Woodworks has a garage door preventative maintenance visit that includes:
- Lube & adjust the tracks, rollers, and hinges.
- Lube springs & adjust spring tension to ensure proper functionality. **
- Check the mechanical components (i.e., chains, pulleys, rollers, hinges, etc.) for signs of wear.
- Inspect weather seal around the door and bottom seal of the door to ensure it makes a tight seal when closed.

**Warning!! Springs, cables, and other hardware attached to the springs are under extreme tension and should only be adjusted by qualified individuals.
